Your daily habits don’t match who you want to be
Who do you want to be? What’s the life you want? I’m guessing if you’re reading this, there’s a big or small part of you that isn’t quite living the life you want to live. It’s a hard pill to swallow, when you finally realise that the only thing stopping you from living the life you want, is you. Nothing else. Just, you. Sure there are obstacles, some bigger than others. But if you are really honest with yourself, you aren’t living the life you want, because you’ve become too comfortable with the pain of your current life. Ask yourself right now, do my daily habits match that of the person I want to be? If yes, then move on from this blog, it isn’t for you. Congratulations though and please share your tips!
But for those of us (yes I do mean us, I’m not living the life I want to its full extent). In a lot of ways I am, but In many I’m not.
The habits you currently have, have served a purpose. Until now. Now it’s time to get really real with yourself, and start asking and admiring to yourself, is what I’m doing right now, something my future self is doing? The answer half the time will be no. If the life you want is to be a full time business owner, and you’re lying in bed at night watching TV, I guarantee you, no entrepreneur is doing that. They might schedule some movie time in with their partner on the weekends, but that’s it. Think about the daily habits of the person you want to be, and start doing them NOW. Not later, not tomorrow. NOW. All we have is now, and if we keep waiting until tomorrow, tomorrow never comes and you’ll be in the same position you are now, this time next year. Not all of us want to be business owners though. So ask yourself, is this really how I want to live my life? Just wasting away my time on fuck all?
If you want something in your life you can’t just expect it to happen one day. You have to plan it, you have to research it, you have to WORK towards it. It’ll be that much more sweeter when you do get it, BECAUSE of the meticulous planning and hard work.
So, what do your daily habits say about you? And what do they say about your life and way of living? And if they aren’t saying what you want them to say, CHANGE THEM. It really is as simple as that. It’s not always easy, sure, but it is simple. Don’t like your life? Fucking change it. You don’t need to wait for a new year, or a new month, or a Monday. You can do it any fucking day or time of the day. You could wake up at 2am and say to yourself ‘nope, fuck this, this isn’t my life anymore’. You only have one life for fuck sake. Do you really want to wake up one day, and have to admit to yourself that you wasted it? Embrace being cringey.
No one gives a shit anyway. Nor are they watching you as closely as you think they are.
Maybe you want to start saving, but have no idea where your money is going. Have a weekly check in with your bank account and look where it’s going. Then set up a budget.
Maybe you want to dress differently, or appear more put together. Give yourself more prep time in the mornings, or set out your outfit the night before. Or get a stylist to help with a few go to outfit ideas.
Maybe you want to write more. Schedule time in your week, the same time every week.
Habits build up over time. They compound. The more you do them the more you see results later on. You have to believe in the process.
But what if the process if boring? You have to believe that the result you want is worth it. And if you find one day that the result isn’t what you want anymore? Then at least you know, at least you can tell yourself you’ve put in the work to find out. The result is never a waste of time. Not doing it? Now that, is a waste of time.
At the end of the day, how you live your life is up to you, no one else. It’s up to you. So, are you living your life for you, or for someone else? And what are you going to do about it?
Love Rosie xx
